Gefilzte Hausschuhe - Felted Slippers

Vor einiger Zeit habe ich in einer Facebookgruppe meine selbstgefilzten Hausschuhe gezeigt. Die Rückmeldungen waren super positiv und es wurde mehrfach nach einer entsprechenden Anleitung gefragt.
Nun stand ich etwas in der Zwickmühle - die Anleitung war aus einem (kostenlosen) Faltblatt von Lana Grossa, das mein Wollgeschäft mir mitgegeben hatte. Dieses Faltblatt war jedoch online nirgendwo verfügbar und selbst wenn - ich hatte es noch an meine Bedürfnisse angepasst und einige Änderungen vorgenommen. Darf ich sowas veröffentlichen?
Die Antwort lautet: Ja. Und kommt von Lana Grossa selbst. Auf meine Anfrage übers Kontaktformular kam eine super liebe Antwort in der mir bestätigt wurde, dass ich die Anleitung inklusive meiner Änderungen teilen dürfe. Und hier sind sie nun also, die gefilzten Hausschuhe.
After my felted slippers found such a positive feedback on Facebook i sorry that the pattern was not available online. I used a flyer from Lana Grossa that my local yarn store gave me when i bought the yarn. With slight changes to the pattern i adjusted them to my needs and how wonderful would it be, if i could share this easy and fun project with others!
The solution is as simple as pleasant - within a few days Lana Grossa replied to my email and granted me the permission to share the information of the flyer with you!

The shoes are knitted and felted with the yarn "Feltro" by Lana Grossa and double pointed needles of 8 mm (US 11)
Der eigentliche Schuh ist mit etwas Strickerfahrung schnell hergestellt:
Mit Maschenanzahl A werden B Reihen gestrickt. Hierbei wird die Hinrunde rechts, die Rückrunde links gestrickt. Wurde die Reihenanzahl B erreicht, werden 8 Maschen dazu genommen, die Arbeit zur Runde geschlossen. Spätestens hier werden die Maschen gleichmäßig auf 4 Nadeln des Nadelspiels verteilt und nun C Runden gestrickt, glatt rechts.
Um den Abschluss zu bilden, werden jeweils die 1. und 2. Masche jeder Nadel rechts zusammen gestrickt bis nur noch 2 bzw 3 Maschen auf jeder Nadel sind. Diese letzten Maschen werden nun auf den Arbeitsfaden aufgenommen und dieser anschließend vernäht.
Welche Zahlen ihr für A, B und C nutzen müsst, könnt ihr abhängig von der gewünschten Schuhgröße in der oberen Tabelle nachlesen.
Und schon ist der erste Schuh fertig! Der zweite wird genauso gearbeitet. Wieviel Wolle ihr pro Größe braucht, ist in der Tabelle ebenfalls angegeben. Diese Anzahl gilt natürlich für ein Paar, also 2 Schuhe.
With a little bit of experience the shoes are knitted in no time.
Cast on A stitches. Simply work one row knitted, one row purled til you reach a final of B rows. At this point cast on 8 more stitches and join the work in the round and continue with knit stitches for C rows.
To finish the shoe of, knit the first and second stitch of each needle together til you have 2 or 3 on each needle left. Use a tapestry needle to graft those stitches together and bind off.
What number are to be used for A, B and C can be seen in the table above, debending on what shoeshize you are going for. Sadly i was not able to put US sizes in too, that would have killed my table. I hope the EU sizes work for you, if not i hope google can help you on that :)
And by this you have finished your first show! The second one is worked the exact same way. Oh and just so you know - the amount of skeins you need for one pair is also written down in the table
Die Änderung, die ich hierbei vorgenommen habe, betrifft den Beinausschnitt. Während dieser beim Original sehr dünn ist (wie auf dem Bild hier rechts zu sehen), wollte ich einen breiteren. Dies habe ich erreicht, indem ich die Anzahl an Maschen, die ich zu Beginn aufnehme, niedriger wähle. Diese 8 fehlenden Maschen werden dann, bevor das Strickstück zur Reihe geschlossen wird, zusätzlich aufgenommen.
Natürlich ist es auch möglich, das Originalmuster zu nutzen. Dann müsst ihr aber schauen, ob ihr das Bild oben lesen könnt ;)
The changes, that i took to the pattern, can be seen in this picture to the right. Since the opening is rather small, and i wanted it to be bigger (as my professionally drawn idea shows clearly) i simply started with less stitches. When it comes to closing in the round i added those extra stitches in.
Of course the original pattern works just as fine. For this, simply add 8 to the number you see at A. And instead of adding 8 stitches, only add 2.
Nachdem Stricken folgt dann noch das Filzen. Auch hier bin ich der Anleitung von Lana Grossa gefolgt und habe damit gute Ergebnisse erzielt.
Die Schuhe werden gemeinsam mit einem Handtuch und, falls zur Hand, mehreren Tennisbällen (geht auch ohne) bei 40 Grad mit etwas Waschmittel gewaschen und geschleudert. Anschließend sollten die Schuhe auf die passende Größe eingelaufen sein. Sollten sie noch zu groß sein, erneut waschen bis die angestrebte Größe erreicht ist. Sollten die Schuhe etwas zu klein werden, kann man sie auch (notfalls auch mit etwas mehr Kraft) in Form ziehen.
Ich habe die besten Formergebnisse erreicht, wenn der noch nasse Schuh direkt angezogen wurde. Danach passten sie perfekt - aber natürlich nur dieser einen Person ;)
Und nun sind eure Filzschuhe fertig. Ich hoffe meine Anleitung hat euch geholfen und eure Schuhe so geworden, wie ihr sie euch vorgestellt habt.

Once you are done knitting the only thing left to do is the felting. For this i continued working with the tips given by Lana Grossa and everything worked out well.
Wash the shoes at 40° Celsius (i think ~104° Fahrenheit?) with a small amount of laundry detergent. They should now have the right size - if not yet, simply wash them again. If they turn out to small, you can still pull them into shape. If you have to, you can even use quite some strength on doing this.
I got the best results by putting the still wet shoes on the foot right away. This way they will dry to exactly the size and shape you need them to be. They will be one of a kind and fitted specifically to your foot! :)
